Surety

Chris Sekine is responsible for the leadership of the Surety business across Canada, which includes the development of broker relationships, underwriting and administration. With over 15 years of experience in the Surety Industry, Chris previously held executive positions with two multinational sureties, first as Vice President and Branch Manager and most recently as the Canadian Managing Director. Chris is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Surety Association of Canada.

Matt Baynton is responsible for supporting broker relationships and the underwriting of Trisura’s surety business nationally. Previously Matt was an underwriter with a large multinational surety company.　 Matt holds his Bachelor in Business Administration and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Michelle McCafferty is responsible for providing underwriting, marketing and administrative support nationally for Trisura's branch network. Michelle was a Senior Underwriter with a leading national surety company, as well as a broker for a leading multinational brokerage, bringing 14 years of surety experience to Trisura. Michelle holds her Associateship in Canadian Surety Bonding (A.C.S.B.) designation and is pursuing her CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional) designation.

Donna Anderson is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces. Donna previously held management positions with a leading surety company in western Canada. Donna brings to Trisura 20 years of surety experience starting her career in the bond process department for a Western based surety company.

Richard Grant is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces. Richard attained his Bachelor of Management, majoring in Finance from the University of Lethbridge. Prior to joining Trisura, Richard was an underwriter with a multinational surety.

Jonathan Hope is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces. He worked for a National Surety company the past few years prior to joining the Trisura team. Jonathan has obtained his ACSB designation along with holding his BBA, majoring in finance.

Stephanie Kuntz is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces.　 Stephanie attained her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Calgary, and has earned her Associateship of Canadian Surety Bonding designation through the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Trisura, Stephanie was an underwriter with a leading national surety company.　

John Thorpe is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the Prairie Provinces. John attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, and has earned his ACSB designation from the University of Toronto. In addition, John has 5 years of construction-related experience working for a mechanical contractor.

Andrew Cartwright is responsible for broker relationships and managing the Surety portfolio of business in Atlantic Canada. Prior to joining Trisura, Andrew completed his MBA with a specialization in finance. Andrew brings to Trisura 2 years of Surety industry experience.

Jean-François Therrien is responsible for broker relationships and managing the Surety portfolio of business in the province of Quebec. Jean-François brings to Trisura several years of underwriting experience in the surety industry. Prior to joining Trisura, Jean-François held the position of senior underwriter in a large multinational insurance company.

Liette Desrosiers is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting commercial surety in the province of Quebec. Liette brings significant experience and expertise with her and has worked for several leading Surety companies over the years.

Frederic Beauregard is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in the province of Quebec. Previously, Frederic was an underwriter for a multinational surety organization. Frederic has a Bachelor of Accounting Degree and is a Certified Management Accountant.

Janet Mascitelli is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in Ontario and the Maritimes. Janet previously held management positions with a leading national surety company. Janet started her career in banking in the Maritimes and brings to Trisura 20 years of surety experience.

Pina Mazzoli is responsible for broker relationships, underwriting and product development for Commercial Surety on a national level. Previously, Pina worked for a multinational insurance company in their commercial surety operations. Pina has 12 years of underwriting experience including risk analysis, business development, portfolio management. Her primary focus has been Commercial Surety servicing both domestic and international firms.

Chris Kucman is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting throughout Ontario and the Maritime provinces. Chris was most previously an underwriter with a multinational surety. He also brings with him an extensive banking and small business ownership background.

Matthew Newman is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in Ontario and the Maritimes. Matthew has several years of underwriting experience and was most recently an underwriter with a large multinational surety company. Matthew holds both his B.Comm and Certified Management Accountant designation.

Kim Roberts is responsible for underwriting developer residential and commercial condominium surety as well as deposit insurance facilities for homes in the province of Ontario. Kim brings significant experience and expertise with her and has worked for several years with a large multinational surety company, as well as two major banking institutions. Kim's educational background includes a B.A, with a major in Economics and a Certificate in Computer Programming.

Andy Neilans is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting throughout Ontario and the Maritimes. Andy has several years of underwriting experience and was most recently an underwriter with a large multinational insurance company. Andy holds both his B.Comm and MBA.

Jordan Walker is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in Ontario and the Maritimes. Jordan holds a B.Comm with a major in finance and a minor in marketing. Jordan was most recently a surety underwriter with a large multinational surety company.

Grace is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting for Commercial Surety. Grace was most previously an underwriter with a leading multinational surety company in their Commercial Surety Unit. Prior to joining the underwriting team there, Grace spent 5 years in the Specialty Claims Unit which dealt with Contract and Commercial Surety and Fidelity and D&O claims. Grace holds a B.A. in Bioethics and her designations in Human Resources Management (HRM), Associateship in Canadian Surety Bonding (ACSB) and Canadian Risk Management (CRM).

Sarah is responsible for management of the administrative duties and functions for the surety department on a national level. Her responsibilities include supporting underwriting staff and day to day administrative functions for Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Sarah has 8 years of surety experience and was previously employed by a large multinational brokerage.

Carolyn is responsible for management of the administrative duties and functions for the contract surety department on a national level. Her responsibilities include supporting underwriting staff and day to day administrative functions for the Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal offices. With a BA in Economics and Psychology, Carolyn began her insurance career in 1989. She brings to Trisura, experience in commercial lines insurance, and has over 18 years in the Surety Department at a large national surety company.

Lisa is responsible for management of the administrative duties and functions for the contract surety department on a national level. Her responsibilities include supporting underwriting staff and day to day administrative functions for the Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal offices. Lisa has over 15 years of administrative and broker experience in commercial lines insurance, primarily P&C and Executive Risk. She began her insurance career in 1992 with one of the top multinational brokerages.

John Watt is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting for British Columbia and the Yukon region. John previously held management positions with two multi-national corporations, first as Assistant Vice-President, responsible for marketing and underwriting for all lines of surety in Western Canada, and most recently as the Vice-President and Director of Surety and Home Warranty for a major international brokerage. John brings 19 years of surety and warranty experience to Trisura and commenced his professional career in the Calgary banking industry.

Ian Bensted is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in British Columbia. Ian started in the Surety industry in 2005 and was most recently employed with a large multinational Surety company. Ian holds a BA in Economics and is currently pursuing an A.C.S.B designation through the University of Toronto and the Surety Association of Canada.

Peter Williams is responsible for broker relationships and underwriting in British Columbia and the Yukon region. Prior to joining Trisura, Peter was an underwriter with a large national insurance company. Peter attained his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia and is pursuing his ACSB designation through the University of Toronto. Peter is currently working towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Clint MacDonald is responsible for contract surety analysis in British Columbia. Prior to joining Trisura, Clint held positions in business development and institutional equity research at two international financial investment firms. Clint attained a Bachelor of Management degree in Finance from the University of Lethbridge and is pursuing an A.C.S.B designation from the University of Toronto.
